Ear Infections
One of the most common medical issues with small children is recurrent ear infections. Recurrent ear infections and hearing loss related to fluid behind the eardrum can be treated with ear tubes. Ear infections can cause sleep loss, fevers, hearing loss, and irritability.
Tonsillitis
Another very common pediatric medical issue is enlarged tonsils and adenoids. These can cause problems such as trouble sleeping and recurrent sore throats. Sleep apnea in children can often be improved with removal of the tonsils and adenoids. This may also help with sleeping issues such as bed wetting and snoring.Tonsils and adenoids can also cause recurrent tonsillitis and strep throat. Their removal can decrease how often your child gets sore throats as well as the severity.
